Franco Giannini

Franco Giannini (born November 9, 1944 in Galatina) – specialist in electronics, professor at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, director of MECSA (Microwave Engineering Center for Space Applications) at the National University Center for Applied Research.

In 1968, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Rome La Sapieza. At the same university, already employed at the Institute of Electronics, he obtained the title of Full Professor of Applied Electronics in 1980. A year later, he began working at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. He held many important positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Electronics (1983–1990), Vice-Rector from 1995–1996, and in 1966 became Rector of the University of Tor Vergata. He was an active activist in promoting cooperation between the University of Tor Vergata and the Warsaw University of Technology. He is the author of over 340 scientific publications worldwide.
